The City of Quesnel hired Cygnus with the goal of developing a wayfinding and placemaking strategy that would better guide locals and visitors, encourage lengthier dwell times among passing travelers and increase civic pride among local residents. We conducted a three day site audit, community engagement workshops and online surveys. I was responsible for creating a recommendations report which highlighted our strategy for both the wayfinding and placemaking programs. This report laid the ground work for the design process, during which I created all designs from concept to design development. My design choices were heavily influenced by the history of the city, the new brand, and respect for budget and durability concerns. Implementation is scheduled for Spring 2019.
