BC Government Ministry Office Graphics (VARIOUS)

Cygnus partnered with Leading Workplace Strategies (a BC Government initiative) to become the sole environmental graphic design consultant involved in the transformation of the workspaces of government employees. The program promotes collaboration and mobility across numerous facilities with unique occupants, service offerings, interior design and architecture. During this contract I was the driving force behind six stand alone projects. My responsibilities for each of these projects included concept design, location planning, design development, construction documentation, client management and creative direction. My knowledge of this client’s needs resulted in me becoming a primary contributor to an EGD standards document currently being created as the benchmark for environmental graphic design in all BC Government Offices moving forward. The following elevations show an overview of designs I created and rolled out across five separate ministries, most of which are set for implementation beginning early 2019. MCFD Kelowna Environmental Graphics

Leading Workplace Strategies came to Cygnus with the goal to develop culturally inclusive environmental graphics for their newly renovated Ministry for Children and Families office space. West Bank First Nation supplied blurbs to speak to these stories, and the Syilx language was incorporated into titles and territorial acknowledgements.

I designed a clean and contemporary timeline that incorporated a brief run down of each of the significant eras with historical photos. Cavities were built into the wall to display artifacts and ensure their safety and exposure in a high traffic area of the hospital.

UBC Baseball came to Cornerstone with an idea to create oversized player panels that could be attached to the outside doors of their brand new training facility. I created a style that portrayed players in a flattering light to boost morale and pride amongst the team, whilst still adhering to the strict UBC brand guidelines.

UBC Baseball Timeline & Donor Wall

With the completion of their new state-of-the art facility, UBC Baseball required a donor recognition concept and timeline that would pay homage to the program’s proud history, whilst complimenting the building’s clean and modern architecture. A donor wall was designed and constructed to incorporate both mitts and balls to recognize donors of varying levels of giving.

BC Children’s Hospital Donor Recognition

BC Children’s Hospital approached Cornerstone to develop a donor recognition program in line with their new brand strategy. With space a huge concern, I created the program so that plaques could be clustered in groups. I developed an internal and external style guide with sizes and specifications allocated to levels of giving. I also designed and adapted various donor walls to suit the brand guidelines and create a vibrant and engaging way to recognise donors.
